The Eastern Newt goes through a stupendously orange stage of life during which it wanders the land spreading joy and cheer with it’s spectacular colour (aside from the slugs and other stuff that get eaten or meanies who attack them and get poisoned).

Eventually it becomes a brown, spotty adult in a pond. A few red spots along its back are all that’s left of its former life.

When you’re in slippers and cardigans, complaining about how the world is changing too fast and telling anyone who’ll listen about this thing called “google” you had when you were growing up, what will your red spots be?
